SHOTS is provided by BQX Innovation Ltd. It costs nothing. The page a link brings you to and three swipes after it need no account; reading further needs a free one. These terms cover what you may do with what you find here, and what to do if you hold rights in something on it.

Using the site

You may read, link to and share any card. Links are the intended way to pass a story on, and every card has a permanent address that keeps working.

You may not scrape the site at volume, republish cards in bulk, or present our condensed text as your own. If you want a feed for a legitimate purpose, ask rather than crawl: use contact.

Content and rights

Each card credits the publication whose reporting it condenses and links to their page, and the photograph is theirs. Rights in the underlying reporting and images remain with those publications. Rights in the condensed text and in the site itself remain with BQX Innovation Ltd and the publications that write here.

Headlines from other publishers

The headlines section shows headlines, teasers and pictures from publishers’ public feeds, exactly as each publisher provides them, credited and linked to the full story on their own site. They belong to those publishers, who are not affiliated with SHOTS and do not endorse it unless stated. The list of publishers is on the sources page. Publishers can add, change or remove their content at shots.news/publishers or publishers@shots.news; we act within 24 hours.

If you hold rights in something here

If you believe material on this site is used without permission, tell us through contact with the address of the card and what you hold rights in. The card is taken down while the claim is checked. We would rather remove something and discuss it than argue while it stays up.

Accuracy

Cards are condensed from published reporting and can be wrong, whether because the source was wrong or because the condensing was. When that happens we correct it in the way set out on editorial standards. Nothing here is advice, financial, legal, medical or otherwise.

SHOTS+

SHOTS+ is a paid subscription that removes advertisement pages from your deck. Everything else is the same for every reader. A story a publication was paid to carry is still shown, with its label.

In the iPhone and iPad app it is sold by Apple and charged to your Apple account at the price shown before you confirm. It renews at the same price for the same period until you cancel, which you can do at any time in your Apple account settings, at least a day before the renewal. Refunds are handled by Apple under its own terms. SHOTS+ belongs to the account you were signed in to when you bought it. Deleting that account does not cancel the subscription: cancel it with Apple first.

Availability

The service is provided as it is. We do not promise it will be uninterrupted, and we may change or withdraw parts of it.
