MOD and Trail Riders Fellowship launch campaign for safe access to Salisbury Plain

The Ministry of Defence has partnered with the Trail Riders Fellowship (TRF) to promote safe and responsible access to Salisbury Plain Training Area (SPTA) as part of its Respect the Range campaign.

The collaboration has produced a series of social media videos covering the primary military purpose of the site, environmental protection, and public safety. The videos show the scale and complexity of training undertaken to prepare Armed Forces personnel for operations, and illustrate how interruptions from the public cause delays, extra costs and missed training, according to Lt Col Jamie Powell, Senior Training Safety Officer SPTA.

The TRF is presented as an example of how parts of the estate can be accessed responsibly. Graeme Collins, Chair of the TRF, said members value continued access and recognise the importance of respecting the site's military purpose.
