Eurobarometer survey finds young Europeans more engaged with participatory democracy
A new Eurobarometer survey published by the European Commission on 28 October 2026 shows growing engagement among young people and captures their views on participatory democracy, youth issues, and the EU's added value in their lives. Full results are available via the Commission press corner.

Chancellor sends annual monetary policy remit to Bank of England governor
The Chancellor of the Exchequer has written to the Governor of the Bank of England to set out the monetary policy remit for the Monetary Policy Committee. The Bank of England Act 1998 requires the Treasury to specify at least once every 12 months, in a period beginning 1 June, how price stability should be defined and what the government's economic policy consists of. Lord Chancellor responds to Nick Timothy MP over Deputy Chief Magistrate suitability
